Sri Koorathazhwan Rajagopura Kainkaryam

Srimathe Ramanujaya Namaha

Srimad Varavara Munaye Namaha

Dear Srivaishnavas,

Sri Koorathazhwan is probably the most glorious Acharya, who is more revered than Jagadguru Sri Ramanujacharya himself, by the entire Srivaishnava community. Sri Koorathazhwan was known for his Vairagyam (staunchness, strong determination), Daya (compassion), Acharya Mahavishwasam (untainted strong faith at the feet of his master) and many more supreme qualities as everyone would know.

Sri Ramanujacharya is believed to be the bestower of the Moksham (liberation) for all the forsaken souls while the same Sri Ramanujacharya claimed that his own liberation is assured by his association with Sri Koorathazhwan.

To protect the life of Sri Ramanujacharya from fanatic saivite administration, which coercively sought the endorsement of Sri Vaishnava Acharyas, including Sri Ramanujacharya in their proclamation of Siva’s supremacy, Sri Vatsanka Misra (Koorathazhwan) safely sent his acharya to Melkote and appeared in His disguise. Not only he refused to sign the statute, he also established the supremacy of SrimanNarayana with copious quotations from Vedas and other ancillary treatises and he preferred to blind himself instead of being punished by unscrupulous authorities.

It was Sri Koorathazhwan who with his unparalleled memory power (eka-chanda-grahana) memorized the entire Bodhayana Vrutti (commentary for Vyasa’s Brahma sutras that served as a foundation for Sri Bhashya) over a single night under a lamp light. When the original copies were snatched away, it was Sri Koorathazhwan’s reproduction from his memory that enabled Sri Ramanujacharya to architect the Sri Bhashya, a magnum-opus of his lifetime and the crown of Vedanta literature.

Although the 1000th birthday of Sri Koorathazhwan was celebrated at temples, Vaishnava community centres and homes, the craving of all the Srivaishnavas and Bhagavathas across the Srivaishnava community that the Rajagopuram be built by the 1000th birthday did not happen.

In memory of such a great acharyan, SBCT has taken up the next grand kainkaryam of constructing the Rajagopuram for the Kooram Temple. We need the wishes and blessings of all Vaishnavas, as the prime resource for accomplishing this laudable goal.

Sri Ramanujacharya Sahasraabdi Mahotsavam
We all know that 1000th year celebrations of Jagadguru Sri Ramanujacharya falls in 2017. One must remember that such a grand celebration may not happen without proper planning and propaganda. We have also planned to organize the extended millennium celebrations of Sri Tirukkacchi Nambigal and Sri Koorathazhwan in a grand and organized manner, as a curtain raiser for this grand event and have planned many other activities so as to keep up the momentum amongst the Srivaishnava community that will lead to a magnificent celebration of the 1000th year of Sri Ramanujacharya.

Srivilliputhur Golden Car festival
SBCT also takes pride in announcing that the
Golden Chariot submission project at Sri Andal Rangamannar temple, Srivilliputhur has been completed in a splendid manner with thousands of devotees thronging on the day of submission (3rd of September).

The car pulling ceremony has been arranged by the devastanam on 29th September 2011.

About Sri Bhashyakara Charitable Trust

Sri Bhashyakara Charitable Trust is a religious organization founded in the year 2000 by H.H. Srimad U.Ve. S.A.R.P.V Chaturvedi Swamy. The foundation of the trust was triggered by the need to propagate Sri Vaishnavism amongst the lost, misguided and the ignorant members and followers in the society as well as the curious outsiders, for the restoration of its fading glory and timely revival.

Since its inception, SBCT is in persistent action for supporting temple construction, renovation and consecrations, publications of Srivaishnava books, and submission of car(chariot), throne, jewels and other valuables to various Srivaishnava temples. The trust offers equal significance to propagate Vaishnavism in rural areas and among school children, educated mass, fashion world and global community, by providing financial aid, transportation, materials, training and guidance.

SBCT has setup up Srivaishnava Ashrams in various prime places such as Chennai, Coimbatore, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Jaipur, Varanasi and many more across India for public and spiritual service.

All these ashrams act as a mini replicas of temples providing spiritual solace, learning and training, protection from subtle negative forces, cure for physical and mental diseases, and enlightenment for those in the spiritual pursuit. These ashrams celebrate all the important occasions such as birthday of the holy saints and seers, festivals and even memorable events of the members and their families, with a spiritual base and purpose. Regular day to day rituals are being performed with utmost reverence by the appropriate staff that leads to the downpour of the divine mercy.

Services to Srivaishnava Community:
Amongst various services to the Srivaishnava Community SBCT takes pride in keeping the following services as its prime focus as ordained by the preceptors.

1. Temple Services:
As temples are seats of glory and strength to the Sri Vaishnava society, it is obligatory that we preserve and uphold all the customs and traditions redeeming them from the growing infiltration of cultural degradation. The trust regularly identifies temples as well as their festivals in need of financial assistance.

Many deactivated festivals are revived, formal festivals made systematic and simple festivals made more rich and resplendent.

It is noteworthy to mention that the trust, apart from its direct services has completed number of successful ventures through motivated resourceful individuals.

Apart from this, the propagation activities organized by the trust has created awareness and integrity in various families and firms, due to which innumerable temple charity endowments have been formed to permanently sponsor selected services.
In this context, to mention a few, festivals like Pavithra Uthsavams and Davana Utsavams at Thiruneermalai, Theppotsavam at Nachaiaar kovil and Thirukkannapuram, and Sri Varaha Jayanti Utasavam at Sri Mushnam are regular contributions of the trust.

In addition to supporting Temples and festivals, innumerous contributions have been submitted to various temples in the form of Jewels, Cars(chariots), Vahanams and much more, few of which are cited below.
1. Golden Hastham Submission for Sri Perundevi Thayar, Kanchipuram
2. Golden Garudan submission for Sri Kudalazhagar, Madurai
3. Silver doors for Sri Kaatazhagiya singar, Srirangam

4. Parangi Narkali for Sri Andal, Srivilliputhur
5. Silver Swing - Sri Narasimha swamy, Ahobilam
6. Golden Mangalagiri for Sri Ramanujacharya - Sriperumbudur
7. Neela Nayagam for Sri Ranganatha Swamy - Kaaramadai (Coimbatore area)
Temples, apart from being centres of worship should also be exemplary abodes of learning and social service. The trust has acquired lands, plots and houses at various Divyadesams such as Ahobilam, Azhwar Thirunagari, Tirukkannapuram, Tirunangur, Melkote and Kanchipuram with this strong motive to develop permanent exhibitions, theme parks, information and learning centres.

2. "Vishwashanti Homam" - Havans for Universal Welfare:
The Vedic scriptures ordain performance of Homam (Havan) for the spiritual invocation of the celestial demigods and gods for the welfare of humanity. Sri Vaishnavism, an ideal Vedic religion, emphasizes the performance of rituals as unconditional divine duty, source of direction and inspiration to aspirants and followers and a strong tool for Universal welfare.
With this principle and with the main focus on world peace, SBCT has performed hundreds of Vishva Shanti Homams in different parts of the country in the last ten years. Regular annual Homams are being conducted in more than thirty centres including Jammu, Delhi, Jaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. The rituals are performed by experts from Pancharatra and Vaikanasa traditions along with scintillating recitations by Vedic scholars and exponents of Divya Prabandhams. Vishnu Sahasranama and other prominent stotras are also recited amidst Bhajans, lectures and cultural events.

3. "Ashrama Vidwad Parishad" - Recognize and support scholars:
Since the root of all Vaishnavite practices and faith stems from our Vedas, Upanishads, Dharma Shastras, Itihasas and Puranas. It is important to inculcate and spread the knowledge about these in the present as well as generations to come, through rational and precise approaches.
The first step in this process is to recognize and support scholars. Innumerable Pancharatra, Vaikanasa Agama Scholars have been regularly recognized and honoured in various spiritual gatherings and sacrifices.

4. "Srivaishnava Granta Paripaalanam" - Preservation of the Srivaishnava Books without further disintegration and degradation: SBCT has successfully published as well as supported publishers by paper and financial sponsorship and brought out works like Araayirappadi Guruparampara, Nachiar Tirumozhi, Vaartamalai, Bhagavad Vishayam, Koorathazhwan Panchastavam, Ramanuja- Myth or Reality and many. Publication of unpublished, out of print and rare works with critical edition, annotations and translation to ensure easy and effectual reach to all aspirants and Propagation of the published works to inculcate awareness and promote involvement is the prime goal of SBCT.

In addition to the above, SBCT conducts various other services such as
